WORKING BEES & CLUB COMMITMENTS
Parental support is required at working bees at the Club grounds during the year. These are usually held in preparation for our Cross Country Training Day held in October and One Day Event held in November. These events take a lot of organisation and usually attract about 150 entries from near and far. Not only do they provide an opportunity for competition, but they are also our major fund raisers and all Club families must help to run them.
Along with the other Clubs in our zone, Mountain Pony Club also has a commitment to maintain the Pony Club property at Monarto which is owned by all the Pony Clubs in the Southern Zone to which we belong. Our share is usually done at a full day working bee at Monarto in preparation for the Francis Figwer Event. The Southern Zone charge each rider an annual levy.
About once a year, families are rostered to help set up equipment required for the running of the rallies at our grounds. This involves putting out show jumping or novelty equipment as requested by the instructors, plus any maintenance jobs or improvements as requested by the Committee. At least once a year, each family will be rostered on kitchen duty where various 'housekeeping' tasks are undertaken. Only one person from each family is required as two or three families are listed for each rally on both equipment and kitchen rosters.
If you are not able to work on your rostered day you must arrange to swap with another rostered person.
If you are not available on working bee dates or at ODE's and Training Days then alternative arrangements can be made with the Club President for work to be carried out on another day.
If commitments are not fulfilled, the following fees are payable:
